NEWS

From Kei's manager Olivier van Lindonk:  Kei has received  main draw WC into the Miami tournament.  To get 100% ready for this big opportunity he has decided not to play the Indian Wells qualifying tournament.  Kei will be in Bradenton preparing for the Miami tournament.
Kei lost to Benjamin Becker in the first round of Delray by 3-6, 6-1, 0-6. Here is the quote from Kei.

"I am back in Bradenton.  We drove back last night from Delray after the match.  I lost to the #3 seed in the first round. The good news is that my arm is feeling good and was able to play three sets with-out any real problems.   The other good news is that my level of tennis, after 11 months of not playing a match, was very good.  In the third set the level went down a little bit but overall not bad at all for a first match back.  Today I continue my rehab back at Bollettieri Sports Medicine and get ready for my next event.  The road back to 100% is never easy but I am working hard and excited about the first step"
Kei Nishikori will play Delray Beach this week for the first time after nearly one-year absence from the elbow injury.
Delray is the tournament where Kei won two years ago for the first time as his professional career.
Kei will play against Benjamin Becker in the first round.
p_100222.jpgLast week, Kei was in NYC to meet his doctor to get clearance for his comeback tournament in Delray and made a quick stop at the Adidas Y3 fashion show and Y3 store.  Famous Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, who designs the Y3 line for Adidas, was there at the Fashion show and Kei got to meet him really quick after the show.  Kei gave him one of his rackets as a gift.  Mr. Yamamoto designed a special pair of shoes for Kei.
Kei's arm flared up a little today and decided to skip Hawaii next week.
Kei has come a long way and is already playing three sets a day pain free.
However, Kei wants to make sure that he is able to do this 4 or 5 days in a row before he goes to a tournament.
