Kei Nishikori received his trophy as the 2008 ATP World Tour Newcomer of the Year on Tuesday at the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships in Tokyo.

I have worked with the ATP on a protected ranking for when he starts his comeback and the ATP is allowing Kei to use a protected ranking of #106.
He will use this ranking from his first tournament back in either late 2009 or early 2010.
Kei's arm is healing perfectly and is expected to play a full healthy 2010 season.
He will start his full tennis training at the IMG/Bollettieri Academy once the doctors give him permission to start hitting.
