March 2010

Kei visited with his doctor in NYC today and the progress is very good. The new MRI and X-ray showed that the spot of the surgery has healed 100 percent. Kei is practicing 3 hours a day with out pain and the progress is moving fast. The only and last point of irritation in Kei's arm is when he completely stretches his arm. This means on the serve it still irritates a little bit. In short, Kei is able to go out and play a full match but not able to serve 4 matches in a row. This irritation is mainly due to the fact that the muscle in the arm is not used to playing and serving for the last 10 months and just needs a little time to get used to this again. Kei will spend the next 10 days strengthening the muscles in his arm and will continue to move forward towards full recovery. Kei has decided not to play Miami as he does not want to rush his comeback and step on the court when he is able to play 4 matches in a row.
From Kei's manager Olivier van Lindonk:  Kei has received  main draw WC into the Miami tournament.  To get 100% ready for this big opportunity he has decided not to play the Indian Wells qualifying tournament.  Kei will be in Bradenton preparing for the Miami tournament.
