I have worked with the ATP on a protected ranking for when he starts his comeback and the ATP is allowing Kei to use a protected ranking of #106.
He will use this ranking from his first tournament back in either late 2009 or early 2010.
Kei's arm is healing perfectly and is expected to play a full healthy 2010 season.
He will start his full tennis training at the IMG/Bollettieri Academy once the doctors give him permission to start hitting.
BRADENTON, Florida, August 11, 2009 - After withdrawing from the French Open in May, IMG client Kei Nishikori was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right elbow as a result of MRI exam by Dr. Altchek and he has continued his rehab for a complete recovery.
The pain in the right elbow, however, continued to exist, so he underwent endoscopy at the Nihon University Hospital in Tokyo on August 7th in order to determine the cause of the pain. As a result of its test, damage to the articular cartilage and inflammation of synovium were found, and then he underwent a small microscopic surgery to remove the inflamed synovium and the damaged cartilage. After this surgery, he needs rehabilitation for 6 - 8 weeks to recover enough to swing a tennis racket without the pain.
Therefore, Kei will not participate in the upcoming US Open at the end of this month. Kei Nishikori will continue his rehabilitation process in Japan, aiming to get back as soon as possible.
Hello,
I caused you so much worry these days.
It was a big disappointment when I got injured but this week, I am feeling better.
I think being home has helped in my recovery and calmed my nerves.
I have been hanging loose, just spending time with my family.
I can train as long as I don't use my arm and have been running, but basically, I need to get a lot of rest.
Yes, it is boring, but now I have time to do a lot of things that I never had the time to do.
I go shopping and visit tourist attractions.
Last week, we went to Onino-Shitaburui in Shimane (see photo).
Hi.
To come straight to the point, it was my coach's birthday on April 27.
happy birthdayyy Glenn:-))))
One of his friends brought up a surprise party for him.
He said 'I went through a lot to have him come to the restaurant.'
He had to make a lot of excuses. Finally he was reluctant to come...
He seemed angry for a while. lol
One lie leads to another and yet another. Well, tough, isn't it? :-<
See this photo. Ignore the terrible blur and look carefully. Tada-, Tommy Haas and Dent are there, too!
Hello,
It's been pretty hot in Florida lately. Feels like summer!
I have spent every day of the past four weeks training.
My schedule is kind of tough. I train for one hour in the morning, get treatment and rehabilitation, and then train again for two more hours in the afternoon.
I am extremely pleased with this award. It is obviously a big honor for me to receive this acknowledgement from my peers. Every day I work incredibly hard to become one of the top players in the world and to get this recognition from fellow players means a lot to me.
